I recently purchased a jewelry saw, thinking I would try a new technique. I have to admit I was a little bit intimidated. Yes, I broke blades
but I learned that the saw needs to be lubricated at ALL times! keep it straight and you’ll be fine. Oh did I mention Practice? Practice? Practice? I bought two huge sheets of copper, I couldn’t bear the thought of wasting sterling silver, especially with the price skyrocketing these days. But I did get enough guts to make a naughty cat charm. I turned it into a pendant necklace!

This necklace is available for purchase in my Handmade Jewelry store

1Enjoyed knowing someone else besides me breaks blades. Discovered part of my problem was not having the correct size blade for the gauge I was trying to saw. Thanks for the tips.

2I just got a jewelry saw for christmas! Haven’t tried it out yet, as I’m not sure how to begin. It’s intimidating, trying a totally new technique! Love the cat charm though, and it’s comforting to see that another beginner was able to create something lovely like that after just a little practice.
