Amber has got to be one of my favorite stones. I love rings and can’t help stopping by those little kiosks in the mall with all the wonderful amber jewelry to look at! Recently I thought I might try making a wire wrapped ring. I really had no design ideas, I thought I would make a simple sterling silver wire wrap ring. I searched high and low for the perfect amber (yes it took a while lol). It’s hard shopping on the web when you can’t hold the stones in your hand. So once I ordered them I kept my fingers crossed that they would be just as wonderful in person.
They finally arrived about 2 weeks later and were awesome! Woooohoooo! (I love it when that happens). Now what to do with them??? I kept holding them in my hand and the more I looked at them the more I thought the amber ring needed to be a little more special than a simple wire wrap. So I did what I usually do and put them to the side until I had an epiphany.
Three weeks later and I finally have a ring I absolutely love!

1This ring is absolutely stunning. I have been making jewellery for a while, mostly beading, and rings are what I really want to be able to do. I am taking my first wire course in a few weeks. I only hope I can get as good as this.

2What a beautiful ring. I am a wire artist also and would not have thought of applying the wire that way. How creative!! I love it.

3This ring is really very stunning, I like the symmetry of thje coils and the fitting of the stone within the the top coils.Absolutely creative. Was any glue used and if so what type.
